The Acorn Round the Corner (The Arc)
The Acorn Round the Corner officially opened its doors in September 2021.
Acquiring The Arc created a wonderful opportunity for us to offer all the children from The Acorn the option to participate in a full day. You enter The Arc down the stairs in front of St John’s Church, this leads you into the main entrance hall.
The main classroom is a bright and airy space where the children are able to free flow and explore the various activities on offer. The Arc is a creative space which allows the children to re-enforce their learning as well as follow their own interests.
Leading off the main classroom is a small courtyard leading to a large fantastic tree enclosed garden which is accessed on a daily basis.
The children participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities which extend their learning. Depending on which day your child attends they can participate in Dance, Drama, Football, Spanish and Sports. The children also take part in cooking activities, Forest School in the outer garden of the Church grounds, STEM activities and much much more!
The children have a catered lunch provided by The Yum Yum Food Company. Using only the highest quality ingredients, all their homemade recipes have been designed to create a perfectly balanced meal for each child. As a result we are able to cater for most allergies and dietary requirements.
Lunches consist of two courses, a main dish followed by a healthy dessert. (Please see the sample menus)
All the menus follow the Caroline Walker Trust guidelines for healthy eating for under 5’s and are based on offering a variety of dishes, well balanced and appetising, whilst providing established favourites that they know the children love.
