Pastoral Care

We strive to create a home from home feel for every child entering The Acorn Nursery and Pastoral Care is of the utmost importance to us all with the safety and wellbeing of every child at the forefront. Every member of staff is aware of the emotional vulnerability that many children can feel when they first start at nursery as often it is the first time they have spent time away from their families – which is a big step for children and parents alike!

Under the care of our dedicated teachers, each child is supported, encouraged, and championed to develop their own unique talents and build lasting friendships. We value the importance of Parents as Partners and strive to work closely with carers to ensure a consistent routine between home at The Acorn.

Throughout your child’s time at The Acorn, we strive to provide an environment where your child can develop the skills needed to manage and embrace the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual challenges they will meet as they grow older.

Pastoral Care is so important as it helps the children to grow as individuals and to have a better understanding of the world around them. It also helps children learn how to be positive contributors to members of their community, as well as learning to express their feelings and concerns in a constructive way.

We want every child at The Acorn to be strong, confident, capable independent learners who are responsible and communicative of their feelings.
